When I was growing up, my parents planted a seed in my brain that I should travel as much as possible. Ever since then, I have been attracted to the idea of running off to new and fun places. More recently, I had a friend in the travel industry who would tell me about the spots she visited and the things she did there, and I decided that if she could be a travel consultant, so could I. Two years ago I joined Travel at Caughlin Ranch, a great place to help me turn my childhood dreams into reality.

When I travel, I try to make notes about all the bits and pieces of information that clients should know. For instance, I keep in mind what’s good and bad about a destination, the ins and outs of touring it, and the best time of year to visit it. Often the little details make all the difference, whether I’m telling clients about the location of an outlet store with amazing deals, or advising them to buy their own water before they arrive.

While I have earned Destination Specialist certificates from around the world, many of my clients go to Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Making the most of my attention to detail, I like to think about the whole picture as I fit together the puzzle pieces into a workable trip. I do this through a combination of interviewing my clients and giving them options that they’re comfortable with. I make sure they know exactly what they’re getting so that it comes out just right. It’s a real team effort. In fact, on my wall I have a picture of Captain Steubing from the television show “The Love Boat,” because he had a great way of interacting with his passengers, smoothing over any problems and creating happy endings.
