For me, the beauty of travel is that it’s always different. Each trip is a one-of-a-kind, even when I go back to a place I’ve already been. I feel the same way about working as a travel consultant, a profession full of variety. Each client brings new challenges and unique questions along with an aura of anticipation, and I never get bored. I like to think that my own sense of curiosity about the world makes me inherently good at my job.
I come from a family of sales people, which may explain why I love personal interactions so much. As I get to know my clients, I ask them plenty of questions and listen to them as they talk about their visions for their special trip. Then, as we begin to narrow down where they want to go, I share my own experiences with those specific destinations. My travels provide me with untold resources for my work.
Wherever I go, I tour hotels, visit attractions and take part in as many activities as I can. I’ve seen the pyramids in Mexico City, gone snowboarding in Utah and relaxed on the sun-kissed beaches of my native Brazil. I’m well versed in Hawaii, and on each visit I learn fascinating new things about the land of aloha. During my most recent Oahu getaway, I spent time with my best friend who lives there, and she showed me the island from a real insider’s perspective.
I enjoy crafting itineraries catering to all types of travelers, whether they’re honeymooners, seniors, families or solo trekkers. Sending people to tropical destinations like Hawaii, Tahiti and Cancun is particularly fun because those are such happy, warm, sunny places, but it’s equally rewarding to put together trips to France, Italy and Greece. No matter where they want to go, I get excited for my clients and feel gratified that I am opening new doors for them on the wonderful world of travel.
