If I had to sum up my favorite travel
advice in just a few words, I’d say, “Stop and smell the roses.”
Don’t rush from place to place, but instead, take time to appreciate the
beauty and uniqueness that surround you. That’s how I approach each itinerary
that I create for my clients, tailoring their trip so it’s just right for
them. I share my own insights about particular destinations in as much detail
as possible, with customer service as the ultimate goal. I like to get to know
my clients personally. We spend a lot of time together, which helps me do a great
job for them. It’s an approach that seems to work, because my clients often
visit me after their travels, showing me their pictures and regaling me with stories
of their vacations.
When honeymooners ask for my help, I gauge my response based on personal travel
experiences, when appropriate. On a recent trip to Australia, for instance, I
discovered that it’s a terrific couple’s getaway. The country offers
wonderfully romantic things to see and do, from wine-tasting in the Yarra Valley
to snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef to penguin encounters on Phillips Island.
Cancun – which I have visited many times -- is one of the world’s
best places for newlyweds to relax and get to know each other in an easy laid-back
fashion. I love cruising, especially the Caribbean, Alaska and Mexico, and I can
recommend ships of all budgets and destinations. On a cruise, honeymooners can
visit many ports of call and get a taste of where they’d like to return
and explore further in the future. For lovers of the tropics, I can help couples
make memories on islands in the South Pacific, including Tahiti and the Cook Islands,
whose way of life invites them to slow down and enjoy the natural surroundings.
With over 20 years of experience as a travel consultant, I specialize in distinctive
trips to intriguing places around the world. I have organized and accompanied
small groups to Italy and Ireland, acquiring significant knowledge about the idiosyncrasies
of each city and town along the way. I’m equally comfortable talking about
where to go and what to do in our own backyard – the U.S. – which
I enjoy exploring by motorcycle with my husband. No matter where my clients end
up, I encourage them to devote two or three days to each destination they visit,
so they can get a true feeling for what makes it special.
