My family has worked in travel for three generations, so essentially I have been in the business from birth. My grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins have all gotten involved over the years, and today I’m proud to work alongside my mother, Alice Hyatt and Deedy Clark, helping travelers enjoy amazing trips around the world. For over 75 years, Air & Marine Travel has built relationships with families, couples and solo travelers who return to us for each new vacation. I pay attention to who they are, where they’ve been and what they love, so that customer service comes as second nature. At the same time, I tap into Tzell’s longstanding relationships with hotels, cruise lines and suppliers around the globe, giving me the clout to move mountains for my clients. From Mongolia to Moscow, we do it all.
Cruises are my passion, ever since 1988 when I joined Society Expeditions on an adventure to the backwaters of Indonesia with famed explorer Lorne Blair. My 2003 cruise to Antarctica on the Clipper Adventurer was a perfect example of my favorite kind of travel: small- ship expeditions to pristine places, with on-board naturalists who point out things I might otherwise miss. On land, I’m a big fan of England, because I have family history there. The British Virgin Islands are high on my list, since I’m a scuba diver. Recently, Charleston, South Carolina became my new favorite destination, it is a place with wonderful people and it has a fascinating story to tell. It’s a city great for experiential learning, where you can walk in the footsteps of the patriots and truly feel America’s past.
I like to call myself a data sponge, because I naturally absorb information
and either retain it or know where to find it at a moment’s notice. I
have completed dozens of destination training seminars to fine-tune my knowledge
of places near and far. I’m a great multi-tasker, and I can easily track
down details on new products. All of those traits allow me to add texture to
each trip I plan, so that clients want to return to Air & Marine Travel year after year and
generation after generation.
