Growing up in Michigan, I never went on any trips to speak of. However, when I became a travel consultant, the world opened up for me. Since then I have ventured to such compelling destinations as London, highlighted by a cruise on the River Thames and tours of Windsor Castle and the Tower of London. It’s a great city for first-timers to Europe, because they don’t have to worry about a language barrier; plus, the people are friendly and there are so many things to see and do. I’ve also been fortunate enough to explore the Caribbean, with its amazingly clear waters, pristine beaches, captivating culture and recreational opportunities galore. Equally wonderful was my paddleboat trip up the Mississippi from New Orleans to Memphis, a slow-paced seven-day excursion filled with history and entertainment. I took my mom along, and although I was the youngest person onboard, it turned out to be a vacation I’ll always remember fondly. Since then, I’ve booked several clients -- including a family reunion -- on that trip.

I enjoy planning all types of travel, but honeymoons are my favorite. I have a great time helping newlyweds plan their first special trip as husband and wife, an excursion that they will talk about with smiles on their faces for years to come. Tahiti gets high marks from many of my honeymooning clients because of its secluded over-water bungalows. Another popular spot for honeymooners is Mexico, which has so much more to offer than many people realize. Hawaii is always a hit with the couples I work with, since it offers everything from privacy and romance to dining and dancing.

I have been a travel consultant since 1994, and my many years in the industry have provided me with the knowledge, experience and ability to steer my clients exactly where they want to go. Along with being a Certified Honeymoon Specialist, I am a Sandals Specialist, Club Med Specialist and Disney Vacation Planner. No matter what the occasion, I try to help my clients feel a thrill about their vacation. In return, I get a sense of gratification in knowing that I’ve sent them somewhere special – perhaps even on the trip of a lifetime.
