Love at Land’s End – Revamped Los Cabos Resorts Welcome Wedding Couples in Style after Hurricane Odile
At the tip of Baja California, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific, Los Cabos offers a rare getaway for couples in love. Bright blue waters, shimmering sands and unspoiled desert landscapes create an unforgettable backdrop for weddings and romantic escapes, while the region’s abundance of upscale resorts, cultural attractions and exciting activities complete the experience. While many local resorts were affected by recent hurricane Odile, all are reopening at the end of the year or early next year so that brides and grooms can still book their dream getaways for 2015. Here are a few of our favorite wedding escapes.
At Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa, wedding couples and their guests awake each morning to take in views of the sparkling Sea of Cortez. The Unlimited-Luxury, AAA Four Diamond Award–winning destination is surrounded by striking seascape and tall palms, not to mention eight championship golf courses. The resort reopens on December 20, 2014, and promises to be “better than ever” after its renovations. Couples can expect a wedding affair out of the ordinary, with event coordinators and designers standing by to realize even the most elaborate of dreams—no pun intended.

Guests enjoy views of Sea of Cortez from most rooms and public spaces and also have a long list of activities to choose from, including fishing, diving, tennis, horseback riding and the one-of-a-kind SOMMA WineSPA, the only spa in Los Cabos and Mexico that uses the benefits of wine in its treatments.Weddings here are set on the beach or in one of the elegant event rooms, with professional coordinators helping to perfect all day-of details.
Reopening with brand-new facilities in March, 2015, oceanfront One & Only Palmilla Los Cabo delivers a destination wedding experience filled with romance and serenity as well as plenty of activity for those who want to stay active. Couples can say “I do” on the soft, warm sand, facing the water, or in the resort’s historic chapel, which rests on a hilltop overlooking the Sea of Cortez and acres of tropical foliage. Brides and grooms that want to make a fairytale-style entrance arrive at the chapel by horse-drawn carriage.
Also scheduled to reopen in March, 2015, Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort in Cabo San Lucas will continue to deliver its award-winning service and upscale accommodations—Hilton-style. The oceanfront setting presents the perfect backdrop for weddings in the sun.
Hotel El Ganzo – Design Boutique, Arts, Live Music, Marina & SPA – Los Cabos is one of the area’s most distinct escapes, one that celebrates diversity, creativity, artistry and sustainability. It houses only 72 guestrooms, each designed with custom furniture and details that set it apart from the mainstream. Weddings here take place against the backdrop of the seemingly endless Sea of Cortez. The resort has not yet announced when it will reopen. Stay tuned for updates!
