History:

From the beginning, the hotel and town attracted an enviable list of Who's Who, including stars Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks and Charlie Chaplin. Trainloads of notables visited the resort town in later years including Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Jimmy Durante, Lucille Ball, the Gables, and even J. Edgar Hoover. Today the tradition continues as Bonnie Raitt enjoys walks on the beach and a day at the Spa. Naomi and Wynonna Judd, George Harrison, Connie Chung, Jane Seymour, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore have all been guests at the hotel. Mel Brooks arrives every August for a few days at the track.
